Why you should not work too hard..

...because by the time you reach home, there is simply not enough time to do all the things that you want to do. *sigh* You will be too tired to do a lot of things too. At 11.41pm, I am so ready to doze off. And I suspect working overtime kinda makes you age faster? I was putting moisturizer on my face and was like, oh my gawd, I look so tired and my employer is not gonna pay for my anti-aging skin treatment nor botox nor plastic surgery.  Imagine if you have spouse and kids??? They gonna miss you so much. (okay, I am single at the moment so this may not be relevant for me..but hey, maybe to you, eh?).  Let's shall not forget to make a life tomorrow, people! Cheers!

Does working out inside a hot temperature room burn more calories?

Due to a certain gluttony lunch activity today (buffet sponsored by boss, woot!), I have to force myself to go to the gym. I joined a Lesmills class called Body Jam (which I heard is a cardio exercise inspired by dance movement) which I suppose can make feel kinda less guilty after that lunch buffet extravaganza. =P But the studio feels so stuffy. After 30 mins has passed, the feeling inside the studio has resembled those of sauna. DAMN HOT.  This makes me wonder if I should just ditch the class or endure with a positive thinking that working out inside a hot temperature room burns more calories. Wait, does it? Oh boy, I've turned into an onsen egg inside the class. #exaggerating So far, the results from Google search has been quite a roller coaster ride of emotion: 1. Yes, as your body will burn more calories as it needs to cool itself (whoa!? sounds good!) 2. Yes, as your heart needs to work harder to both keep your muscles well oxygenated during cardio and...

Why "pretty" is the best trait of a game's main character?

Welcome to the wonder of role-playing-games (or in short, RPG). My friend has to brag about the upcoming Final Fantasy game for PS4 and here I am, without the console (and the money to buy the console), sulking on the corner of the room. *sob* While waiting for the raining cash from heaven, I am reminiscing my school-days where I spent most of my time role-playing different RPG characters in front of my old  retro telly. Now that I'm grown up (in age but not at heart apparently since I still get all jelly from my friend's FF post), I do wonder what makes role-playing the main character of RPG so exciting? Square Enix (the producer of Final Fantasy series) said that pretty emo teens are the magic RPG formula. Well I don't disagree with them as my beloved RPG main characters are Cloud Strife (FFVII) and Squall Leonheart (FFVIII). Tidus (FFX) is also pretty and young but he's not emo enough. #fangirlmode Are they your high-school crush too? =P

Why nobody likes Monday?

"Oh no, it's Monday again!"  I am too blues to face Monday in less than an hour. So I am gonna write a random excuses to justify why Monday is so unlikeable. 1. We don't really like our job Face it, most of us are working just to sustain life. And hence, as working is such a burden, we see weekends as a light at the end of the tunnel. Our euphoria moment. Obviously, we feel so depressed when it's over. 2. We are not morning person And guess what, the first day that you need to wake up earlier-than-normal (by normal here I mean 10AM earliest) is Monday. Yawnnn~~~ 3. We don't like to face certain people And these people usually exist in those places that we need to visit the most often e.g. office and school. Ughh. Monday is a bitch. (This may not apply to those working during weekends. =P) 4. We have not finished what we plan to do during weekends Weekend is too short. Well, considering the fact that there are 5 days of working days and on...

Procrastinating is one of life's survival skill

If you are wondering if I'm postponing my exercise plan again, well, you are not wrong. Hahaha. But even I know, that cannot be categorised as a good procrastination. So, if that's the case, is procrastination really a positive habit in life? Yes, I still believe that.  1. It gives you time to stop and breathe Living in a fast-paced environment leaves you a little time to stop and breathe while doing your never-ending activities. Procrastination gives you that chance to just stop, breathe and gather yourself together.  2. It lets you prioritise what really matters Procrastination gives you chance to just stop and prioritise which activity that you need to complete first. And this is especially important in your career. Although at this point, it kinda makes me wonder if prioritising is the better name of procrastinating skill. LOL.  3. It gives you the chance to enjoy things in life Like more sleeping times instead of hours spent at the gym. O...

Plain girls win the boys

Bummer. Why the fact that "plain girls win the boys" is a bad news for me? I super love wearing make up. Ever since I fell in love with them 4 years ago. Added by the fact that Korean style trend is easy to pull off.  I can say that I am super confident of my cat-eyeliner-drawing skill. And this makes me oblivious to the fact that none of my boy friends (not that I have many to start with) saying that I look good in it. They only said "wow you look different'. Then stops. And then most of them end up chasing the plain girl with nearly zero make-up (I really audit their picture sometimes) and most of the plain girls ended up married. Geez. Boys are such a liar (or maybe they don't have the guts? But let's not go to that direction here.) The point is, the new challenge for the day is how to underdress your face without looking like you just been overrun by a truck. Tough. But let's just do it. #todolistgettinglonger

Because birthday cake is too mainstream

I had a weird random early celebration of my birthday this year. On the last day of Lunar New Year holiday back home in Jakarta, my mum and I spent our lunch together at Sushi Tei, one of popular Japanese restaurant chain in Indonesia (full details here ). And the waitress asked us if there's anyone having a birthday this month. I, happened to have one. And after all our orders have arrived, they surprised us with...A BIRTHDAY SUSHI ROLL. Kudos to Sushi Tei for their creative customer service. XD

Older than yesterday but younger than tomorrow

Happy birthday to me! Oh my gawd, time flies so fast it feels like I just blink and suddenly I am getting older. I don't know whether I should be happy or sad. LOL. I had so many things happened in the past year both happy and sad. But as what the quote says you can't have a better tomorrow if you keep thinking about the past. So today I'm saying goodbye to all those sad moments last year and saying hello to a better tomorrow. But for today, I'll just enjoy my day. =)

How to look nice with shoulder length hairstyles?

I go completely horrified whenever I start sweeping my bedroom's floor. Hairs everywhere! O_O This usually happens when my hair starts growing out longer than my shoulder. Haizz. I love long hair but maintaining long hair takes a whole lot of efforts. As I like taking shortcut (ahem, not that I'm proud of actually), before I know it, my fingers have type "shoulder length hairtsyles trend" on Google. #googlefest Here are some nice inspirations: 1. Rosie Huntington Whiteley I got no idea her hair is now shoulder-length but I suppose model looks good in anything. Even bald. XD 2. Taylor Swift Tay tay always looks pretty, including in shoulder-length hairstyle. Her hair looks slightly shorter than RHW though.  3. IU K-pop idols are another great source for hairstyle inspiration and I love how IU looks in shoulder-length. Problem though, my bangs are not that long yet.  4. Kristen Bell My favourite actress (hey, Veronica Mars/ Gos...

Being happy on your own

"Sometimes you just have to create your own sunshine." One day, we feel that other people just don't get us. Hence, we are unhappy.  Another day, those that we expect can make us happy disappoint us. We are unhappy, once again.  Is our happiness supposed to be based on such flimsy sources? Happy are those who realise that they can be happy on their own.

How do you count down your birthday?

It is 2 hours to my birthday and I have been spending my times watching Running Man   thinking about what I've been through for the past year. Do you do the same if tomorrow is your birthday? Like what the quote says, let's not focusing so much on the number (it's a wise decision considering that our age can only go to one direction), be grateful and enjoy our remaining days on this planet earth. Cheers~~~

Do cats get lonely too?

A lot of my friends are either a dog person or non-animal-lover. I'm gearing more toward the latter as I don't have my own place at the moment. But I spent my whole three years of junior high school being called cat just because their latin name are pretty close to my name *le sigh*. Thanks to that, I become more observant of cats and kinda admire their don't-care-attitude. But do you ever wonder if cats do get lonely too? (dogs are seriously like super extrovert animal and like to hang around people). Based on my recent exploration at Google (I am not that adventurous, you see), it is not wise to leave your cat alone for more than 24 hours (yes, cats do get lonely!). If you close eyes to your cats' lonely feeling, you can start imagining what can happen when you leave a cat alone at home for a long time like: 1) A super disgusting litter box (even your cat stop using it because it's too disgusting) 2) Wrecked/ scratched things around the house (I am qu...

Doing laundry near midnight

I thought I can move on from this weird habit of doing my laundry at midnight after I graduated from university. But now, at 11pm (Singapore time), I have just finished loading my laundry into the washing machine. And hence, I must stay awake for the next one hour to wait for that machine to spin spin rinse rinse to clean my clothes. To be honest with you, I'd rather do everything around midnight if that minimise my chance of meeting (and hence exchanging words) people outside my bedroom. [Fyi, I am renting a room and hence, staying with my landlord/lady]. Hooray, antisocial lifestyle!
