Due to a certain gluttony lunch activity today (buffet sponsored by boss, woot!), I have to force myself to go to the gym. I joined a Lesmills class called Body Jam (which I heard is a cardio exercise inspired by dance movement) which I suppose can make feel kinda less guilty after that lunch buffet extravaganza. =P
But the studio feels so stuffy. After 30 mins has passed, the feeling inside the studio has resembled those of sauna. DAMN HOT.
This makes me wonder if I should just ditch the class or endure with a positive thinking that working out inside a hot temperature room burns more calories. Wait, does it?

| Oh boy, I've turned into an onsen egg inside the class. #exaggerating |
So far, the results from Google search has been quite a roller coaster ride of emotion:
1. Yes, as your body will burn more calories as it needs to cool itself (whoa!? sounds good!)
2. Yes, as your heart needs to work harder to both keep your muscles well oxygenated during cardio and to send extra blood to the surface of your skin to keep your body temperature safe (I'm getting excited here!)
3. Unfortunately, the calorie numbers are pretty low like one bite of a chocolate worth of calories (Are you freaking kidding me?)
4. And since you may cut your exercise shorter due to the heat, the total calorie burned may end up not much different from exercising in colder temperature (I guess there's a limit to one's perseverance of heat)
So yeah, I suppose this theory is kinda a bummer, eh?
P.S. The facts above are taken from article from Shape magazine (link) and a healthy living journal (here). I am lazy to find out more because those facts have been depressing enough and I want to hit the sack soon. XD #aslazyasgudetama
